OUR ETHOS
I Know The Designer exists because furniture decisions often carry more weight than they appear.
They’re expensive, permanent, and difficult to reverse — yet most people are left to navigate them alone.
Our role is not to imagine possibilities, it’s to apply
… professional judgment at the moment it matters.
WHAT GUIDES OUR ADVICE
JUDGEMENT
… over taste.
We prioritise longevity and cohesion — not personal preference.
DECISIONS
… over exploration.
Our work begins when options are being narrowed, not expanded.
BOUNDARIES
… over flexibility.
Clear limits and process protects clarity — for you and for us.
BUYABLE OUTCOMES
… over look and feel.
Advice is only valuable if it leads to confident action.
What we don’t offer
I Know The Designer is not designed to replace full-scope interior design.
We deliberately do not provide concepts, moodboards, layouts or ongoing collaboration.
These services require a different process, economics and relationship.
Our work stays intentionally narrow — so advice stays sharp.
What this means for our clients — and you
→ Advice is structured, specific, outcome-focused and finite
→ Recommendations are opinionated, not exhaustive
→ Custom and multi-item sourcing happens once direction is set
→ If something falls outside scope, we say so early
If this way of working resonates, you’ll feel it immediately — we’re not here to persuade you.
